The international study explored how Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) and Interprofessional Education (IPE) are currently understood and implemented in undergraduate healthcare programmes.

Drawing on responses from 810 students and educators, the study found strong recognition of the educational value of PPI and IPE, while also identifying considerable differences in implementation, participation and preparedness across countries and disciplines.

The findings reinforce the need to strengthen institutional and educator preparedness and highlight the opportunity to integrate PPI and IPE to support more collaborative and person-centred healthcare education.
